My new sounds:
Last night I performed my last show as Foxtrot at Puppies, Wellington. Ending a solo project is kinda like breaking up with yourself, it’s a strange feeling… Thank you so so much for all of the wonderful support and feedback over the years, and anyone who’s ever helped me put on shows, supported, who’s given feedback or ever come out to a show! I won’t make shoutouts this time because the people who’ve helped me out know who they are and I all owe you 100x coffees/cuddles anyway. You’ll be a’seeing me soon.
Thanks so much everyone, it’s been real <3
This piece was developed in conjunction with the New Zealand School of Dance’s Choreographic Season for choreographer Katie Rudd. Originally a nine minute work, the edited version moves through moods, phrases and gestural material without the presence of the live dancers. The original work has been further developed and will be released in a compilation of music for dance later this year. This edit showcases one young man’s movement through everyday life and his inability to cope with his surroundings, both moving and stagnant.
Tonight is the opening night of the New Zealand School of Dance’s Choreographic Season! I will be performing alongside cellist and composer Charley Davenport and musician Thomas Press. Looking forward to it!
